A student rides her bicycle to school, which is 6 km north of her home. After school, she rides to the grocery store that is 2 k

m north of the school.
 What is the total distance she travels from home to the grocery store?
 For the student, her displacement from home to the grocery store is the same as her distance. How is this possible?
 What could the student do to make her displacement different from her distance traveled?

The total distance traveled from home to the grocery store would be 8km.

Because both distances she traveled were in the same direction, north, both displacement and distance travel were equal.

If the student traveled in two different directions, such as north to the school and south to the grocery store, her distance traveled would be 8km but her displacement would only be 6km.

#4
HELP PLEASE!
Find Gravitational Potential Energy!
THANK YOU!
Scilla [17]

Answer:

\Delta GPE=-3.92\ 10^9\ J

Explanation:

Gravitational Potential Energy

It's the capacity of an object to do work due to its relative height from a fixed reference point.

It's computed as

GPE=m.g.h

Where m is the mass of the object, h is its height and g is the acceleration of gravity, g=9.8 m/sec^2

The mass of water is given as

m=8,000,000\ kg

The height above the rocks is h=50 m. Let's compute the GPE

GPE_1=(8,000,000\ kg)(9.8\ m/s^2)(50\ m)

GPE_1=3,920,000,000\ Joule

It should be expressed in scientific notation

GPE_1=3.92\ 10^9\ J

The GPE at the bottom, where h=0

GPE_2=0

The change of gravitational potential energy is:

\Delta GPE=GPE_2-GPE_1

\boxed{\Delta GPE=-3.92\ 10^9\ J}

What would happen to the brightness of the bulbs if the switch was opened
jeka57 [31]
When the switch is open then no current can flow, on the other hand, when it is closed, current will pass through. When only “bulb a” is connected to the battery then more current is flowing to “bulb a” causing it to be bright. So the light of “bulb a” will be dimmer.

1. A body has a velocity of 72 km/hr. Find its value in m/s.
CaHeK987 [17]

72 Km/hr

= 72000 m/ 60×60 s

= 72000 m/ 3600 s

= 20 m/s

Answer is 20 m/s.
