Two friends, Joe and Sam, go to the gym together to strength train. They decide to start off with an exercise called flat bench

press. Lying flat on a bench with their arms in an extended position, they slowly lower (to their chest) and then raise a barbell back to the starting position. They start off by using a 45.0 kg barbell. Joe is taller than Sam which means Joe\'s arms are 69.4 cm long while Sam\'s are 60.6 cm. Calculate the work done by Joe, WJoe, when he raises the barbell to finish one repetition. The acceleration due to gravity is 9.81 m/s3

<span>Given:
</span>45.0 kg barbell
Joe\'s arms are 69.4 cm long while Sam\'s are 60.6 cm
acceleration due to gravity is 9.81 m/s3
Find:
Work
Solution:
F = ma
F = 45(9.81m/s2)
F = 441.45 N

W = Fd
W = (441.45 N)(0.694m)
W = 306.4 J

A ray of light passes from air into carbon disulfide (n = 1.63) at an angle of 28.0 degrees to the normal. what is the refracted
Snezhnost [94]
We can solve the problem by using Snell's law, which states
n_i \sin \theta_i = n_r \sin \theta_r
where
n_i is the refractive index of the first medium
\theta_i is the angle of incidence
n_r is the refractive index of the second medium
\theta_r is the angle of refraction

In our problem, n_i=1.00 (refractive index of air), \theta_i = 28.0^{\circ} and n_r=1.63 (refractive index of carbon disulfide), therefore we can re-arrange the previous equation to calculate the angle of refraction:
\sin \theta_r =  \frac{n_i}{n_r}  \sin \theta_r =  \frac{1.00}{1.63}  \sin 28.0^{\circ} = 0.288
From which we find
\theta_r = \arcsin (0.288)=16.7^{\circ}

Which model of communication was originally described as a one-way process consisting of the following five questions: who, says
tresset_1 [31]

Answer:

Lasswell's 5 step model

Explanation:

This model of communication defines the answers to the questions who says, to whom, says what, the effects it was said with and in what channel.

Lasswell's 5 step model of communication was described as a single way process and was used for the analysis of mass communication, communication in groups and between people to disperse messages into these. It was designed for the purpose of studying and analyzing the business strategies and the media hype of different countries at that time.
