Alleles are variations where DNA sequence of gene varies from one individual to another. Other genes may have one allele because if there is low variation. There are genes where by one alleles may be common and others are rare.

Sometimes it can be a disease which causes variation and others may be a healthy. One allele is being inherited from male parent in diploid organisms and others from female parent.
