I believe you want to know how much each of them SAVED.

Let the amount saved by Michelle be x, the amount saved by Sam be y and the amount saved by Dean be z.

From the givens:
x = 3y (Michelle saves 3 times as much as Sam).......eq1
y = 2+z (Sam saves 2$ more than Dean)
z=y-2.........eq 2
x+y+z = 240 (total amount)......eq 3

substitute by equation 1 in 3:
3y+y+z=240
4y+z=240......eq 4

substitute by 2 in 4:
4y+y-2=240
5y=242
y= 48.4$

from 1:
x=3y
x=145.2$

from 2:
z=y-2
z=46.4$

Line m passes through the points (2, -7) and (4, -9) line m is parallel to which line
zhannawk [14.2K]

Answer:

The Answer is: The slope is -1, so any line with the same slope is parallel.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given points (2, -7) and (4, -9) find the slope, m:

m = y - y1 / (x - x1)

m = -7 - (-9)/(2 - 4)

m = -7 + 9/-2

m = 2/-2

m = -1

A parallel line is any line with the same slope which is -1.

Hope this helps! Have an Awesome day!!  :-)

What is the distance around a triangle with the sides measuring 2⅛, 3½ and 2½?
Marta_Voda [28]
So when you have data given this kind of form... you should convert to decimal first.
So that would be:
a ≈ 2.12
b = 3.5
c = 2.5
Now just place the simple perimeter formula, and sum all sides.

A number is squared. The result is squared, then that result is squared. The final number is 6561
larisa [96]
The question is saying a number is square, then squared again, and finally square again, making that number squared itself up to 3 times. So we take 6561 and we square root it 3 times. Square root of 6561 is 81, square of 81 is 9, and finally square root if 9 is 3. The final answer is 3.
