Answer:

5447.93 KJ

Explanation:

Given:

The number of moles of octane , n = 0.015

Mass of the water heated, m = 250 grams

Temperature change of the water, ΔT = 371.2 K - 293.0 K = 78.2 K

The specific heat capacity of the water, C = 4.18 J/k g

Now,

the heat acquired by the water, Q

Q = mCΔT

on substituting the values, we get

Q = 250 × 4.18 × 78.2

or

Q = 81.719 KJ

Now, the heat of combustion = Q / n = 81.719 / 0.015 = 5447.93 KJ

Determine the electron geometry (eg) and molecular geometry (mg) of <img src="https://tex.z-dn.net/?f=CH_3%5E%2B" id="TexFormula
Yuri [45]

Answer : The correct option is, (e) eg = trigonal planar, mg = trigonal planar

Explanation :

Formula used :

\text{Number of electron pair}=\frac{1}{2}[V+N-C+A]

where,

V = number of valence electrons present in central atom

N = number of monovalent atoms bonded to central atom

C = charge of cation

A = charge of anion

The given molecule is, CH_3^+

\text{Number of electron pair}=\frac{1}{2}\times [4+3-1]=3

That means,

Bond pair = 3

Lone pair = 0

The number of electron pair are 3 that means the hybridization will be sp^2 and the electronic geometry of the molecule will be trigonal planar.

Hence, the electron geometry (eg) and molecular geometry (mg) of CH_3^+ is, trigonal planar and trigonal planar respectively.

Write a
paragraph or two on electromagnetism.
patriot [66]

Answer:

Electromagnetism is the study of the electromagnetic force, one of the four fundamental forces of nature. It includes the electric force, which pushes all charged particles, and the magnetic force, which only pushes moving charges.It is used in many electrical appliances to generate desired magnetic fields. It is even used in a electric generator to produce magnetic fields for electromagnetic induction to occur.

Exposure of silver Chloride to sunlight for a long
duration turns grey due to
Tema [17]

Answer:

Exposure of silver chloride to sunlight for a long duration turns grey due to photolytic decomposition i.e decomposition in the presence of sunlight.

Explanation:

When silver chloride, AgCl is exposed to sunlight for a long time, it will undergo decomposition as the sunlight provides sufficient energy needed to decomposed the salt, AgCl to metallic silver and chlorine gas. This can be seen in the equation below:

2AgCl —> 2Ag + Cl2

Which part of the mantle is still a solid but flows like a thick, heavy liquid?
marusya05 [52]

Hello!

Your answer is A, asthenosphere

The asthenosphere is a part of the mantle. It helps move the plates in the Earth.

It is below the lithosphere, between 80 and 200 km below the surface.

Therfore, the asthenosphere is the part of the mantle that is still a solid but flows like a thick, heavy liquid.
