Why didn't mendeleev use atomic number to arrange the elements?
Pepsi [2]

The primary reason for this was that Mendeleev didn't know that atomic numbers actually existed. Atomic numbers were only discovered a period after Mendeleev's time. The use of X-rays made it possible to find the atomic number, and those had not been discovered yet.
The periodic table was then arranged in 1913 by Henry Moseley in an arrangement according to atomic number.

• 1) The pressure of a sample of gas in a 2.00-L container is 876 mmHg.
kifflom [539]

Answer:

4380 mmHg

Explanation:

Boyle's Law can be used to explain the relationship between pressure and volume of an ideal gas. The pressure is inversely related to volume, so if volume decrease the pressure will increase. It can be expressed in the equation as:

P1V1=P2V2

In this question, the first condition is 2L volume and 876 mmHg pressure. Then the system changed into the second condition where the volume is 400ml and the pressure is unknown. The pressure will be:

P1V1= P2V2

876 mmHg * 2L = P2 * 400ml /(1000ml/L)

P2= 876 mmHg * 2L / 0.4L

P2= 4380 mmHg

Answer: In Galileo’s time, what was considered the “center of everything”? The Earth! All of the planets and even the Sun went around “us”. Of course, when Galileo saw the moons of Jupiter passing in front of the planet, and disappearing to show up again, it was clear to him that these moons went around Jupiter like our moon goes ‘round the Earth.

That did not set well with the Beliefs of the day, and that is at least one answer!
