Not sure about your question, but there are a couple of things to think about. Do the line and the point intersect? If yes, then they must intersect at the point. If they do not intersect, then the line and the point can create a plane. Hope this helps!

The sum of two numbers is 66. Two times the smaller number is 15 more than the larger number. What are the numbers? First one wi
Viktor [21]

Answer:

Larger number (y) is 39

Smaller number (x) = 66 - 39 = 27.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the smaller number be x and the larger number be y.

Sum of two numbers = 66

According to question,

x + y = 66

x = 66 - y.........(1)

Now, since twice of smaller number is 15 more than the larger number, According to question,

2(smaller number) = larger number + 15

2x = y + 15 .........(2)

Now substituting the value of y from (1) in (2)

2 (66 - y) = y + 15

132 - 2y = y + 15

-2y - y = -132 + 15

3y = 117

y = 117/3 = 39

So the largest number (y) is 39

Smaller number (x) = 66 - 39 = 27.
