Answer:

96.0 grams of oxygen gas (O2) will be produced.

Option B is correct.

Explanation:

Step 1: Data given

Number of moles SO2 = 2.0 moles

Molar mass O2 = 32.0 g/mol

Step 2: The balanced equation

2H2S(g) + 3O2(g) → 2SO2(g) + 2H2O(g)

Step 3: Calculate moles oxygen gas (O2)

For 2 moles H2S we need 3 moles O2 to produce 2 moles SO2 and 2 moles H2O

For 2.0 moles SO2 produced we need 3/2 * 2.0 = 3.0 moles O2

Step 4: Calculate mass O2

Mass O2 = moles O2 * molar mass O2

Mass O2 = 3.0 moles * 32.0 g/mol

Mass O2 = 96.0 grams

96.0 grams of oxygen gas (O2) will be produced.

Option B is correct.

8. Describe an lonic Bond. (What types of atoms come together to form an ionic bond? What happens to the electrons in an ionic b
Shtirlitz [24]

Answer:

An ionic bond is that in which an electron is trasferred to another atom. Atoms  that are considered metals have a low electronegativity meaning they are less likely to gain any electrons. Atoms that are non-metals have a higher electronegativity and are more likey to gain electrons than lose electrons. When an electron is either lost or gained by another electron the atome becomes more stable. Atoms with a complete and balanced valence shell stay close together because of the Nucleus with its strong electromagnetic pull. The stronger the pull the more likely the atom will gain an electron. The weaker the pull the more likely it will lose an electron.

Calculate the volume, in liters, occupied by 1.80 moles of H2 gas at STP.
masha68 [24]

Answer:

40.32L

Explanation:

So we know that 22.4 Liters is one mole of a gass so we can set up an equation to test that

1mole     1.8mole

_____ = _____

22.4L         x

and then cross multiply so you get 40.32L
