If the DNA sequence TTCACG is transcribed to AAGGC, what type of mutation has occurred?

The answer is d. deletion.

If the DNA sequence is TTCACG, it is expected to be transcribed into AAGUGC.
But, it was transcribed into AAGGC. If we count nucleobases, a transcribed sequence has 5 nucleobases, while DNA sequence has 6 nucleobases. These means that deletion happened.
If insertion occurred, there will be 7 nucleobases in transcribed sequence. In substitution or translocation, the transcribed sequence will be the same size, but with different sequence than the DNA sequence.

What will happen if an animal cell didn't have a cytoplasm?
Alinara [238K]
Well, an animal cell e/o a cytoplasm would miss a vital tool. The cell wouldn't have a certain, specific shape since the cytoplasm gives a cell it's shape. Also, the cell would have a very difficult time if any to break down waste, since that is one of the jobs of the cytoplasm. In addition, the cell would no longer have an aid in metabolic activity. Furthermore, without the cytoplasm the cell would be flat and substances would not be able to pass easily from one organelle to another. The organelles would not be held in a specific place w/o the cytoplasm. #Giveathanks.
