EPE= 0.5 * spring constant * (extension)^2

Spring constant=EPE/0.5*extension^2

5J/0.5*0.5^2

=40N/m

Energy stored in a spring = (1/2) (spring constant) (stretch)²

 5 Joules = (1/2) (spring constant) (0.5 m)²

10 Joules = (spring constant) (0.25 m²)

Spring constant = 10 joules / 0.25 m²

Spring constant = 40 Newton/meter

How do objects become negatively charged using the contact method
Kamila [148]

If a negative object is used to charge a neutral object, then both objects become charged negatively. In order for the neutral sphere to become negative, it must gain electrons from the negatively charged rod. A metal sphere is electrically neutral. It is touched by a positively charged metal rod.

A 3.50-meter length of wire with a cross-sectional area of 3.14 × 10-6 meter2 is at 20° Celsius. If the wire has a resistance of
maks197457 [2]

Answer:

5.6\times 10^{-8}\ Ohm.m

Explanation:

Resistivity is given by \rho=\frac {AR}{L} where A is cross-sectional area, R is resistance, L is the length and \rho is the reistivity. Substituting 0.0625 for R, 3.14 × 10-6 for A and 3.5 m for L then the resistivity is equivalent to

\rho=\frac {3.14\times 10^{-6}\times 0.0625}{3.5}=5.60714285714285714285714285714285714285\times 10^{-8}\approx 5.6\times 10^{-8}\ Ohm.m
