4x=-3y+17 becomes 4x+3y=17

4x+3y=17
3x-4y=-6

alrighty

elimination

muliply first equation by 4 and 2nd by 3 and add them
16x+12y=68
9x-12y=-18
add them

25x+0y=50
25x=50
idivide both sides by 25
x=2

sub back

3x-4y=-6
3(2)-4y=-6
6-4y=-6
-4y=-12
y=3

the area of the triangle below is 1/4 square meters. what is the length of the base. express your answer in simplest form
Alexeev081 [22]

Answer:

4/5

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Area of the triangle = 1/4 square meters

From the diagram,

Height = 2/5 m

To find : Length of the base

Formula : -

A = bh/2

Here,

A denotes Area

b denotes Base

h denotes Height

A = 1/4

h = 2/5

A = bh/2

Cross multiply,

A * 2 = bh

2A = bh

2 * (1/4) = b * (2/5)

(1 * 2)/4 = (b * 2)/5

2/4 = 2b/5

1/2 = 2b/5

Cross multiply,

1 * 5 = 2 * 2b

5 = 4b

b = 4/5 meters

Hence,

The length of the base is 4/5 meters.

kia thinks she can make her new product for $5.80. She plans to sell for $12. what is her percent mark up?
gavmur [86]
First, count the difference of the cost production and the selling cost
difference = 12 - 5.8
difference = 6.2

Second, transform the difference to percentage
percentage = difference/product cost × 100%
percentage = 6.2/5.8 × 100%
percentage = (620/5.8) %
percentage = 106.9%

The mark up cost is 106.9%

Lupita rides a taxi that charges a flat rate of $6.75 plus $3.20 per mile. If the taxi charges Lupita $40.03 in total for her tr
yaroslaw [1]

Answer:

10.4 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

Write an equation for the total cost paid as a function of the # of miles driven:

L(x) = $6.75 + ($3.20/mile)x

and set this equal to $40.03 to determine the # of miles Lupita rode:

L(x) = $6.75 + ($3.20/mile)x = $40.03

Isolate the x term by subtracting $6.75 from both sides:

($3.20/mile)x = $40.03 - $6.75 = $33.28

Finally, divide both sides by ($3.20/mile):

x = $33.28 / ($3.20/mile)

 = 10.4 miles

Lupita rode 10.4 miles in the taxi.

How do you complete this task?
Assoli18 [71]

Answer:

-3/2

Step-by-step explanation:

y=mx +b

where m is the slope and b is the y intercept

we just need to rewrite 3x+2y+18=0 to look like that

We need to get y by itself

3x+18= -2y

we need y to be positive and to have no number in front of it (no coeficcent)

y= -3/2x-9

the slope is therefore -3/2
