1.5V stands for the voltage of the battery.

It means that the potential difference between the metal can and the little button on top of the battery is about 1.5 volts.

That's strictly the result of the chemicals in the battery, and has nothing to do with its size. If a battery as big as a house has the same chemistry inside that the AA has, the big one will also have 1.5 volts between its terminals. (But it'll run your flashlight much longer than the AA will, before it runs down.)

A tennis ball is tossed upward with a speed of 3.0 m/s. We can ignore air resistance. What is the velocity of the ball .40 secon
alexira [117]

Answer:

Hello, The velocity of the ball is 0.92 m/s in the downward direction (-0.92 m/s).

Explanation:

The equation for the velocity of an object thrown upward is the following:

v = v0 + g · t

Where:

v = velocity of the ball.

v0 = initial velocity.

g = acceleration due to gravity (-9.8 m/s² considering the upward direction as positive).

t = time.

To find the velocity of the ball at t = 0.40 s, we have to replace "t" by 0.40 s in the equation:

v = v0 + g · t

v = 3.0 m/s - 9.8 m/s² · 0.40 s

v = -0.92 m/s

The velocity of the ball is 0.92 m/s in the downward direction (-0.92 m/s).

A 0.614mole sample of ideal gas at 12degree occupies a volume of 4.32.what is the pressure of the gas
Kaylis [27]

Answer:

336.9520 atm

Explanation:

The Gas Equation is as follows;-

Pressure×Volume=Number of Moles × Universal Gas Constant ×Temperature(in Kelvin)

Given Parameters

Number of moles-0.614 mol

Temperature 12°C or 12+273.15 ie 285.15°F

Volume-4.32 L

Universal Gas Constant-8.314 J/mol·K

Pressure -?(in atm)

Plugging in all the values in the Gas Equation:-

Pressure=\frac{0.614 × 8.314× 285.15}{4.32} atm

Pressure=336.9520 atm

If a star is moving away from you at a constant speed, how do the wavelengths of the absorption lines change as the star gets fa
Minchanka [31]

Answer:

they stay shifted the same amount to the red

Explanation:

Redshift is given by

z=\dfrac{\lambda_o-\lambda_e}{\lambda_e}

Where,

\lambda_o = Wavelength observed

\lambda_e = Wavelength emitted

Also

Transverse redshift is given by

1+z=\dfrac{1}{\sqrt{1-v^2/c^2}}

v = Velocity of object

c = Speed of light = 3\times 10^8\ m/s

So, if the velocity is constant the redshift remains the same

Round to three significant figures.
0.0785584 rounds to
Elan Coil [88]

Answer:

0.0786

Explanation:

zero after the decimal place is not a significant figure since it comes before the real integer "7".

"5 " in ten thousandth place is rounded off to "6" because the next digit is also another "5",

so we get the three sfg 0.0786
