△TUS∼△CBS
Romashka-Z-Leto [24]

The value of x from the diagram is 42. 5

<h3>How to determine the value</h3>

Since we have that △TUS∼△CBS

Line BS = 8. 5

Line CS = 7. 5

Line US =  42. 5

TS = x

To find TS, we can see that line US is equivalent in length to line TS

If line US = 42. 5, then line TS = 42. 5
TS = x = 42. 5

Thus, the value of x from the diagram is 42. 5

Geometry help needed!
salantis [7]

Answer:

AC Midpoint (2,0)-

CB Midpoint (5,-4)

midlength is 5

Step-by-step explanation:

midpoint formula (\frac{x_{1}+x_{2}  }{2} ,\frac{y_{1} +y_{2} }{2})

A(2,4) C(2,-4)

\frac{2+2}{2} =\frac{4}{2}=2\\\frac{4-4}{2}  =\frac{0}{2} =0

(2,0)

C(2,-4) B(8,-4)

\frac{8+2}{2} =\frac{10}{2} =5

\frac{-4-4}{2} =\frac{-8}{2} =-4  midpoint is  (5,-4)

Distance between the 2 midpoints is the midsegment

(2,0) and (5,-4)

d=\sqrt{(x_{2}-x_{1})^{2} +(y_{2}-y_{1})  ^{2}   }

d=\sqrt{(5-2)^{2} +(-4-0)^{2}  } \\d=\sqrt{3^{2} +(-4^{2})\\ } \\d=\sqrt{x} 9+16\\d=\sqrt{25} \\d=5

Use quadratic regression to find
vodka [1.7K]

The equation of the parabola is y = 5x² - 11x - 31

<h3>Parabola</h3>

The equation of a parabola is a quadratic equation in the form:

y = ax² + bx + c

Where a, b and c are constants.

At point (2, - 33):

  • -33 = a(2)² + b(2) + c
  • 4a + 2b + c = -33      (1)

At point (4, 5):

  • 5 = a(4)² + b(4) + c
  • 16a + 4b + c = 5     (2)

At point (5, 39):

  • 39 = a(5)² + b(5) + c
  • 25a + 5b + c = 39      (3)

Solving equation 1, 2 and 3 simultaneously gives:

a = 5, b = -11, c = -31.

The equation of the parabola is y = 5x² - 11x - 31
