Well the GCF is the number you can get out of your terms that can later be multiplied and get the same answer... in this case lets chack our smallest number that fits in our smallest numbers of these three wellit will be 3 how many times does 3 fit in 9?? 3 times, how many times does it fir in 219?? 73 times, and how many times does it fir in 21?? well it fits 7 times now lets set it as a factor 3(3+73+7) now is there any other number that can fir on the ones inside the parenthesis?? Well no so your final answer should be 3(3+73+7)

hope this helps

The value of a car reduces by 30% every 6 months. A car costs $15,000 when new. What is the value of the car after 2 years?
Allisa [31]
6 months goes into 2 years 4 times
30 x 4 = 120
120% of 15,000 is
100% is 1,500
10% is 150
150 x 2 = 300 (20%)
1,500+300=1,800
15,000+1,800=16,800

That's how scales work. They show your weight which is actually your downward pull by the force of gravity.

Consider the quadratic equation ax^2+bx+5=0,where a, b and c are rational numbers and the quadratic has two distinct zeros.
FrozenT [24]
You have shared the situation (problem), except for the directions: What are you supposed to do here? I can only make a educated guesses. See below:

Note that if ax^2+bx+5=0 then it appears that c = 5 (a rational number).

Note that for simplicity's sake, we need to assume that the "two distinct zeros" are real numbers, not imaginary or complex numbers. If this is the case, then the discriminant, b^2 - 4(a)(c), must be positive. Since c = 5,

b^2 - 4(a)(5) > 0, or b^2 - 20a > 0.

Note that if the quadratic has two distinct zeros, which we'll call "d" and "e," then

(x-d) and (x-e) are factors of ax^2 + bx + 5 = 0, and that because of this fact,

         - b plus sqrt( b^2 - 20a )
d =  ------------------------------------
                      2a

and

          - b minus sqrt( b^2 - 20a )
e =  ------------------------------------
                      2a

Some (or perhaps all) of these facts may help us find the values of "a" and "b." Before going into that, however, I'm asking you to share the rest of the problem statement. What, specificallyi, were you asked to do here?
