Iodate has a charge of -1, this means its chemical symbol must be IO3(-1) while Lanthanum is La(+3). Therefore making the compound La(IO3)3.

However sulfate has a chemical symbol of SO4(-2), it has charge of -2, therefore the formula for lanthanum sulfate is:

La2(SO4)3

Answer:  La_2(SO_4)_3.

Explanation:-

For formation of a neutral ionic compound, the charges on cation and anion must be balanced. The cation is formed by loss of electrons by metals and anions are formed by gain of electrons by non metals.

Here lanthanum is having an oxidation state of +3 called as La^{3+} cation and iodate IO_3^{-} is a polyatomic anion with oxidation state of -1. Thus they combine and their oxidation states are exchanged and written in simplest whole number ratios to give neutral La(IO_3)_3.

For formation of sulfate of lanthanum, lanthanum will have same oxidation state of +3 called as La^{3+} cation and sulphate SO_4^{2-} is a polyatomic anion with oxidation state of -2. Thus they combine and their oxidation states are exchanged and written in simplest whole number ratios to give neutral La_2(SO_4)_3.

Equation:
Quantify of heat = mass x specific heat x difference in temperature
We have: quantity of heat : 2300J
specific heat: .449 J/g
difference in t: 80 - 30 = 50
Solve for mass: 2300 = mass x 0.449 x 50
mass = 102.449

4. How many milligrams are in 5.25 x 10-13 kg?

the “-13” is an exponent
rusak2 [61]

5. 25 x 10⁻⁷mg

Explanation:

This is mass conversion from mg to kg;

The kg is a quantity of mass used to measure the amount of matter in a substance.

   Given mass = 5.25 x 10⁻¹³kg

The kilo- is a prefix that denotes 10³

  therefore;

         1000g = 1kilogram

the milli- is a prefix that denotes 10⁻⁻³

       1000mg = 1g

Now that we know this, we can convert:

   5.25 x 10⁻¹³kg  x \frac{1000g}{1kg}  x \frac{1000mg}{1g}   =  5. 25 x 10⁻¹³ x 10⁶mg

      =  5. 25 x 10⁻⁷mg

Under what conditions does the molar volume of a gas decrease
nydimaria [60]

Answer:

Gases are compressible, meaning that when put under high pressure, the particles are forced closer to one another. This decreases the amount of empty space and reduces the volume of the gas. Gas volume is also affected by temperature. When a gas is heated, its molecules move faster and the gas expands.

If 56 grams of notrogen are used up by the reaction, how many grams of amonia will be produced? 1N2+3H2--> 2NH3
djverab [1.8K]
1 mole of N2 produces 2 moles of NH3
OR...
14 x 2 grams of N2 produces 2(14 +3) grams of NH3
1 gram of N2 produces 34/28 grams of NH3
therefore, 56 grams produce (34/28 )x 56 =68 grams of NH3

the answer thus would be 68 grams of NH3
