A primary care physician is a doctor who treats many types of illness and injuries. A specialist is a medical professional who has chosen to focus on one field of medicine, such as an oncologist, who treats only cancer, or a podiatrist, who focuses only on treating foot conditions. A primary care physician is more suited for general wellness checks, before the illness or injury is diagnosed. For example, if your leg hurt, you would visit a primary care physician first. Once the physician learns that the reason for the pain is a torn ligament, you would be referred to a specialist like a surgeon. A surgeon is a type of specialist who can help solve the specific problem once it has been diagnosed.

A primary care physician does not every thing about an injury or an illness and a specialst is aware of every kind of illness or injuries. When you have an injury or illness and meet a physican , he or she will first check about the problem you haveby providing you some medicine and take sometime and when he or she gets to know that the illness is out of his hand then only he will send u to a specialst.here a physian is a waste of time and money. So it is better to see a specialist.if i have an accident and break my leg i will see a specialstand if i fell off riding a bicycle and get hurt i will see a physian

Sergio039 [100]

Answer:

Because they are at high risk of getting pulmonary tuberculosis.

Explanation:

An opportunistic infection is an infection caused by microorganisms that take advantage of the weakness of the body's defenses caused by HIV infection to cause damage. Opportunistic infections occur in people with compromised immune systems, allowing such organisms to cause widespread infection. In healthy individuals, microorganisms would not be allowed to proliferate to the point of causing infection because the immune system would keep them at bay.

People living with HIV are 28 times more likely to get pulmonary tuberculosis as an opportunistic disease. For this reason, HIV-infected individuals living close to each other in long-term treatment facilities, drug treatment facilities and prisons should be carefully examined prior to admission.
