Describe how living conditions change for two tidal organisms

The shoreline is one of the harshest and most changeable environments for living creatures. The changing tides shift the environment dramatically within a sub-daily cycle. Here, we can consider two typical shoreline organisms, and the changing environment they must endure. Within the rocky shore environment, an octopus would be within the shallow but open sea environment during high tide, and water temperature and salinity conditions would be fairly constant. During low tide, the octopus might become trapped in a rock pool. This environment is dramatically different. The water temperature and salinity might increase drastically with exposure to solar radiation. The octopus is also more vulnerable to predation by humans and other land animals. Within the sandy shore environment, sand clams would be actively positioned at the interface of the sand and water, and will be actively filtering sea water for detritus. During low tide, the sand would be exposed to the air, and the clams would burrow down into the sand so as to avoid dessication.

tensa zangetsu [6.8K]

Answer:

(4) is bred and the trait is capable of being inherited

Explanation:

Mutation generally refers to a sudden change to the DNA sequence in the genome of an organism.

Since, DNA is the molecules responsible for heredity and the inheritance of traits by offspring from their parents, a mutation should be inheritable.

Hence, if a sudden appearance of hairlessness in one of the puppies is observed by a dog breeder, he/she can effectively conclude that the situation is caused by a mutation if the affected dog is bred with another dog and the hairlessness is observed in any of the resulting progeny.

Option 4 is the correct option.

Mutation comes from the Latin word mutare,
aalyn [17]

Answer: Mutation can affect an organism by resulting to a change in the number and structure of chromosomes (chromosomal mutation). A typical example of this type of mutation is Down's syndrome where the individual contains 47 instead of 46 chromosomes.

Mutation can also result to a change in the nucleotide sequence of the DNA molecule in a particular region of a chromosome(Gene mutation) an example of genetic mutation is sickle cell anemia

Brown eye-color alleles are dominant over blue eye-color alleles, which are recessive. jenna has brown eyes. her husband, bill,
Vinil7 [7]
Brown eye-color is dominant while the blue-eye color is recessive. Therefore, the homozygous for brown color is BB and the homozygous for brown color is bb. Thus, the heterozygous will be Bb (brown color). Since James has blue colored eyes a child of Jenna (brown color) and bill (blue color) then it means Jenna is heterozygous (Bb). Jenna is described as being a carrier of the allele for blue eyes.
