When magnesium hydroxide and chromium (lll) iodide are mixed together then it results in the formation of magnesium iodide and chromium hydroxide.

The chemical reaction equation is as follows.

    3Mg(OH)_{2} + 2CrI_{3} \rightarrow 3MgI_{2} + 2Cr(OH)_{3}
