So one monday he buy for

2.20 × 2.5 =5.5

on tuesday he buy for

2.20 ×1.2 =2.64

the total is

5.5+2.64=$8.14

so the answer is C

Therefore, 3x = 2y $= > x = \frac{2y}{3}$ $x + y = 30 \\ = > \frac{2y}{3} + y = 30 \\ = > \frac{2y + 3y}{3} = 30 \\ = > \frac{5y}{3} = 30 \\ = > y = \frac{30 \times 3}{5} \\ = > y = 18$
Therefore, the smaller number = 30 - 18 = 12
