If you have a lot of these to do, it is convenient to use a spreadsheet or other method of doing the computation.

The 2-point form of the equation for a line applies.
.. y = (y2 -y1)/(x2 -x1)*(x -x1) +y1
From this, you can determine that
.. m = (y2 -y1)/(x2 -x1)
and
.. b = y1 -x1*(y2 -y1)/(x2 -x1)

a) m = 15, b = -8
b) m = -2.5, b = 8
c) m = -1, b = 10
d) m = 3/4, b = -10

The attached graph shows the computation of m and b. The first point of each set is shown in purple, the second point is shown in red. You can see the line goes through the required points.

What equation would you use to find the measure of
PIT_PIT [208]

The figure is a parallelogram, and in a parallelogram, the lower side and the upper side have the same length. Also, the left side and the right side have the same length. This is shown in the following image:

The red sides are equal, and the blue sides are equal.

Thus, since the blue sides are equal, we can use the following equation to find x:

7x=3x+14

And since, once we know x, we can know the length of JK, this is the equation that we can use to find JK.

Answer:

7x=3x+14

Point S is on line segment \overline{RT}
Semenov [28]

Answer:

RT = 20

Step-by-step explanation:

Point S is on line segment

R------------S------------T

RS + ST = RT

Given

ST=3x-8

RT=4x

RS=4x-7,

Step 1

We find x

4x - 7 + 3x - 8 = 4x

4x + 3x -7 - 8 = 4x

7x - 15 = 4x

7x - 4x = 15

3x = 15

x = 15/3

x = 5

Step 2

We find RT

RT = 4x

x = 5

RT = 4 × 5

RT = 20

The numerical length of RT is 20

The temperature went from -16°F to 7°F. What was the change in temperature?
worty [1.4K]

Answer:

To find this out, we first need to see the change, is it a positive change or a negative change? Well in this case, as the temperature is increasing, we find that the change is positive. The next step we need to do, id that, how much was the change by, we can find this out by finding the absolute value of the difference of -16°F and 7°F

The absolute value means, the operations answer has to be positive, if not then it will become positive.

|-16°F -7°F|

=> |-23°F|

=> 23°F

If h(x) = (fºg)(x) and h(x)= 5(x+1)^3 find one possibility for f (x) and g(x).
viktelen [127]

Answer:

One possibility is that;

g(x) = (x + 1)

while h(x) = 5x^3

Step-by-step explanation:

Here, we are told to find one possibility for f(x) and g(x)

The term h(x) = (Fog)(x) means that we are inserting g(x) into f(x) to give h(x)

Now let’s have it this way;

We can see that g(x) = (x + 1) , then h(x) = 5x^3

This is one possibility of the values of g(x) and h(x)
