When pouring water from one five gallon bucket to another, a person tends to pour at a faster rate at first and then slow down i

n order not to spill. The amount of water left in the original bucket can be approximated by
f(t) = 5 - 0.82t0.62,
where f(t) is measured in gallons and t is the time spent pouring in seconds. Find the approximate amount of water left in the original bucket after 6 seconds of pouring. Round to the nearest hundredth.

I will assume that 0.62 is an exponent   then

amount left  after t seconds = f(6) =   5 - 0.82(6)^0.62

= 2.51 gallons to nearest hundredth.

What is the equation in point slope form for the line that is parallel to y=-8x-12 that contains the point (-3,3)
belka [17]

Answer:

The equation of a parallel line in point-slope form would be y - 3 = -8(x + 3)

Step-by-step explanation:

To find this, we must first note that the original slope is -8. Parallel lines have the same slope, so we know that the new line will also have the slope of -8.

Given this information, we can use the point and slope and put them into the base form of point-slope form.

y - y1 = m(x - x1)

y - 3 = -8(x - -3)

y - 3 = -8(x + 3)

A bread recipe calls for 1/3 cup of butter. You want to make 1/2 of a batch. How much butter do you need?
Sergio [31]
Do 1/3 x 1/2 to get 1/6, or you could think, 1/3 divided by 2, which would equal 1/3 x 1/2
