How is similarity of geometric figures applied and verified?

Two Geometric figures are similar if you can go from one to another only through rotation (spinning), translation(moving WITHOUT rotating), reflection (making a simetry) or scaling (like zooming)
When scaling, you have to scale both vertical and horizontal axis at the same rate (example, 2x, 7x or 0.3x)
As such, all squares are similar and so are all REGULAR poligons among each other (all equilateral triangles are similar, all regular pentagons, etc)
This gets a bit tricky if the polygons are not regular, but the principle remains the same. For example, if you have a triangle with sides measuring 2,5 and 4, it will be similar to a triangle with sides measuring 8, 20 and 16, because you have scaled it 4x, hence, it's internal angle remained the same.

Can someone please simplify ln e^4/8 showing me how to do it
Otrada [13]

Answer:

e ^1/2

Step-by-step explanation:

All you do is take the fraction (4/8) and just simplify that part

4 divided by 2 = 2

8 divided by 2 =4

I got 2/4 but I can simplify more

2 divided by 2= 1

4 divided by 2 = 2

Now I got 1/2

And I would just leave e alone so my answer is e ^1/2

Do you kinda get what im saying?

Cos s=-2/5 and sin t=4/5, s and t are in quadrant II<br> find cos(s+t) and cos(s-t)
mojhsa [17]

Answer:

•cos(s+t) = cos(s)cos(t) - sin(s)sin(t) = (-⅖).(-⅗) - (√21 /5).(⅘) = +6/25 - 4√21 /25 = (6-4√21)/25

•cos(s-t) = cos(s)cos(t) + sin(s)sin(t) = (-⅖).(-⅗) + (√21 /5).(⅘) = +6/25 + 4√21 /25 = (6+4√21)/25

cos(t) = ±√(1 - sin²(t)) → -√(1 - sin²(t)) = -√(1 - (⅘)²) = -⅗

sin(s) = ±√(1 - cos²(s)) → +√(1- cos²(s)) = +√(1 - (-⅖)²) = √21 /5
