Answer:

A) increases the permeability of the collecting ducts to water.

Explanation:

Antidiuretic hormone. Hormone released primarily in response to changes in serum osmolarity or blood volume. It causes the kidneys to conserve water by concentrating urine and reducing its volume, stimulating water reabsorption.

The antidiuretic hormone (ADH), or arginine vasopressin (AVP), is a hormone released primarily in response to changes in serum osmolarity or blood volume. Also known as argipressin. It causes the kidneys to conserve water by concentrating urine and reducing its volume, stimulating water reabsorption,<u> increasing the permeability of the collecting tubules for water</u>.  It is named after this important function as a homeostatic fluid regulator. It also has functions in the brain and blood vessels. It is a small hormone (oligopeptide) consisting of nine amino acids: NH2-Cys-Tyr-Phe-Gln-Asn-Cys-Pro-Arg-Gly-COOH. Vasopressins are peptide hormones produced in the hypothalamus. Most are stored in the back of the pituitary gland (neurohypophysis) in order to be released into the bloodstream, some of them being released even directly in the brain. Vasopressin is in high concentrations in the locus coeruleus and in the black substance, which are catecholaminergic nuclei.

At the Indianapolis 500, you can measure the speed of cars just by listening to the difference in pitch of the engine noise betw
allsm [11]

To develop this problem it is necessary to apply the concepts related to the Dopler effect.

The equation is defined by

f_i = f_0 \frac{c}{c+v}

Where

f_h= Approaching velocities

f_i= Receding velocities

c = Speed of sound

v = Emitter speed

And

f_h = f_0 \frac{c}{c+v}

Therefore using the values given we can find the velocity through,

\frac{f_h}{f_0}=\frac{c-v}{c+v}

v = c(\frac{f_h-f_i}{f_h+f_i})

Assuming the ratio above, we can use any f_h and f_i with the ratio 2.4 to 1

v = 353(\frac{2.4-1}{2.4+1})

v = 145.35m/s

Therefore the cars goes to 145.3m/s

The speed of light in air is 3.0 x 10^8 m/s. The speed of light in particular glass is 2.3 x 10^8 m/s. Use the information to de
olga_2 [115]

Answer:

33.61°

Explanation:

Refractive index is equal to velocity of the light 'c' in empty space divided by the velocity 'v' in the substance.

Or ,

n = c/v.

v is the velocity in the medium  (2.3 × 10⁸ m/s)

c is the speed of light in air = 3.0 × 10⁸ m/s

So,

n = 3.0 × 10⁸ /  2.3 × 10⁸

n = 1.31

Using Snell's law as:

n_i\times {sin\theta_i}={n_r}\times{sin\theta_r}

Where,

{\theta_i}  is the angle of incidence  ( 25.0° )

{\theta_r} is the angle of refraction  ( ? )

{n_r} is the refractive index of the refraction medium  (air, n=1)

{n_i} is the refractive index of the incidence medium (glass, n=1.31)

Hence,

1.31\times {sin25.0^0}={1}\times{sin\theta_r}

Angle of refraction = sin^{-1}0.5536 = 33.61°
