Answer:

a) 3.7 m/s^2

b) 231.8 N

Explanation:

Let m1 be mass of the first object (m1 = 38.0 kg) and let m2 be the mass of the second object (m2 = 17.0 kg ). Let a be the acceleration of the two objects. Let F1 be the force of gravity exerted on m1 and F2 be the force of gravity exerted on m2. Let M = m1 +m2

a)

F1 = m1g and F2 = m2g

So Fnet = F1 + F2

Since the pulleys will move in different directions when accelerating...

Fnet = F1 - F2

M×a = m1g - mg2

M×a = g×(m1 -m2)

a = g×(m1 - m2)/M

a = 9.8×(38 - 17)/(38 + 17)

a = 3.7 m/s^2

b)

Looking at the part for m2

Fnet  = T - m2g

-m2×a = T - m2g

T = m2(g - a)

T = 231.8 N

A golf ball stays on the tee until the golf club hits it. Which of the following principles best describes why this occurs? A) N
wel

Answer:

C) Newton's law of inertia

Explanation:

The law states that a body will continue in its state of rest or uniform motion unless compel by some external forces (acted upon by an unbalanced force) to act otherwise. In this case the golf will remain in it state because the downward force of gravity is equal to the upward force of normal and the horizontal vector sum of the forces acting on the body is zero.

Roseanne and Jackie were asked to design and create a paper airplane that would stay in the air for as long as possible. They be
jekas [21]

Answer:

the planes times in the air

Explanation:

When a paper airplane is thown the path it takes is not the same every time. So, measuring the distance between the points where the airplane took off and the point where is landed would not show the time the plane was in the air.

The weight also does not determine the time the plane was in the air.

So, the planes air time recorded with the stopwatch gives the time the plane was in the air and will indicate the best plane.

If you determined the electric field intensity in a field using a test charge of 1.0×10−6 C and then repeated the process with a
uranmaximum [27]

The force F exerted by an electric field on a test charge q is given by:

F=qE

From this equation we notice that if we change the test charge then the force will change as well.

Therefore, the forces on the charges will not be the same.

We can't determine the electric field without further information on the problem; we need the force on one of the test charges to determine the magnitude of the field.

A hunter on level ground fires a bullet at an angle of 2 degrees below the horizontal while simultaneously dropping another bull
Marizza181 [45]

If hunter fires a bullet 2 degree below the horizontal

then the components of its speed is given as

v_x = v_o cos2

v_y = v_o sin2

so here initial speed of the bullet is not zero but have some magnitude in downwards direction

While the other bullet is dropped downwards so its initial speed will be zero

So here we can say

d = v_i*t + \frac{1}{2} at^2

so if we use above equation we will find that the bullet that is shot at 2 degree below the horizontal will reach the ground first as its speed is more
