Answer:

C. A positive and a negative ion

Explanation:

Acids and bases are made up of charged particles known as ions. The ions present in acids are oppositely charged and are held together by strong electrostatic forces. When acids or bases are dissolved in water, the electrostatic forces holding their individual molecules together are weakened and these ions are free to move apart in a process known as dissociation. Dissociation occurs because of the attraction between the positive and negative ions in the acid and bases and the negative and positive polarity of water.

For example, when an acid like hydrochloric acid is dissolved in water it dissociates into positive and negative ions as follows:

HCl(aq) -----> H+ + Cl-

When a base like sodium hydroxide is dissolved in water, it dissociates into positive and negative ions as follows:

NaOH(aq) ----> Na+ + OH-

Why is it not possible to just consume only pure ATP and thus eliminate some steps in
xeze [42]

Our digestive has the steps of digestion and absorption associated with it. So all the compounds taken in as food are first broken down into simpler components before absorption.

Explanation:

ATP or Adenosine Triphosphate is a compound containing a molecule of adenine as nitrogen base, a ribose sugar and three molecules of phosphate attached with the adenine in a chain. Its unable to get absorbed into the system as ATP itself. In intestine, it will be broken down into Adenine, ribose, and phosphates and then absorbed individually into blood.

Thus even if we consume raw ATP, we can't bypass the process of ATP formation. So, there's no significance. And secondly, ATP is very expensive and not suitable for consumption itself.

What is the mass of 5.7 x 1022 atoms Mn?
Svet_ta [14]

The mass of 5.2 x 10^22 manganese atoms in grams would be 635.784 grams.

What is Avogadro's constant?
Avogadro's number tells us how many particles are in one mole (or mol) of a substance. Electrons, molecules, or atoms could be among these particles. Avogadro's number has a value of approximately 6.022140857×10²³ mol⁻¹. Avogadro's number tells us how many particles are in one mole (or mol) of a substance. Electrons, molecules, or atoms could be among these particles. Computation of mass
Avogadro calculated that every material had 6.022 x 10^23 atoms per mole.

5.2 x 10^22 atoms of Mn would contain how many moles?
= 6.022 x 10^23 /1 x 5.2 x10^22
=11.58 moles

Mn mass equals 11.58 moles multiplied by 54.9
= 635.784 grams
