What did Texas offer that caused these people to want to move into the area

Texas has plenty of land for farming so many people took advantage of that. It is also rich in coal and oil and produces a lot of clean energy through turbines.

Well, back in the day, (and still to this day) Texas had a very good quantity a natural resources. (Including oil and many others)
