Answer:

B. Compact Bone

Explanation:

Compact bone tissue is the strongest bone tissue type due to certain structural features. It has few spaces and serves to impart protection, support, and resistance against the stress produced by weight and movement. The compact bone tissue makes most of the diaphyses of long bones.

Osteon makes the structural unit of compact bone tissue and consists of concentric rings of lamellae present around the central osteonic canal. All the osteons of compact bone tissue are arranged in the same direction and run parallel to the length of the diaphysis of long bones which in turn impart these long bones the resistance against bending and fracture.

The thickness of the compact bone tissues and the lines of the stress in the bones vary from bone to bone giving them the additional strength.

Place the following events in the proper order. 1) Activation of one or more cellular signaling proteins. 2) Dissociation of Ga
dolphi86 [110]

Answer:

4) Replacement of GDP by GTP on the Ga after interaction with an activated GPCR.

5) Conformational change in the Ga subunit causing a decreased affinity for the Gb g subunit.

2) Dissociation of Ga from the G protein complex.

6) Ga-subunit with its attached GTP activates an effector like adenylyl cyclase.

3) Production of a second messenger, like cAMP.

1) Activation of one or more cellular signaling proteins.

Explanation:

It is a signaling cascade initiated by G proteins. These G proteins function as molecular switches capable of activating signaling pathways in the presence of guanosine triphosphate (GTP), which is hydrolyzed in order to produce energy

Which characteristic of a pine tree is an adaptation to the climate of the northwestern coniferous forests?
Tom [10]
Pine trees have deep roots which enable them to adapt to the climate of the northwestern coniferous forests. Their roots extend deep down to the soil where oxygen content is limited and water is scarce. During the change of seasons when the soil is wet the roots tend to recede and when it is dry the roots tend to spread downward.
