What does ut mean when a compounds chemical formula does not include any numbers?

Chemistry

It means that the elements are a one-to-one ratio. This happens when the charges cancel out, atom to atom. For example sodium chloride aka table salt. The charge of sodium, Na, is 1+. The charge of Chlorine is 1-. The charges must cancel out on both elements and if they don't you have to find common multiples until you do. So the formula for sodium chloride is NaCl with no numbers.

What does Le Châtelier's principle state?
Rudiy27

Answer:

B. A reaction at equilibrium will respond to balance a change.

Explanation:

The Le Chatelier's principle states that a reaction will respond to balance a change. This is true for a reaction in chemical equilibrium.

Le Chatelier's principle sates that "if any conditions of a system in equilibrium is changed, the system will adjust itself in order to annul the effect of the change".

  • It explains the effect of applying stress on any system in equilibrium.
  • The changing conditions are usually concentration, temperature and pressure.
  • If the stress due to any of them is applied to a system in equilibrium, the equilibrium will respond in the directions which counteracts the effect of the stress.

Is the following chemical equation balanced?
FrozenT [24]

Answer:

No

Explanation:

The given equation is not balanced

Chemical equation:

KClO₄ → KCl + O₂

Given Balanced chemical equation:

KClO₄ → 2KCl + 2O₂

Correctly balanced chemical equation:

2KClO₄ → 2KCl + 4O₂

Now this equation is correctly balanced.

There are two potassium atom two chlorine atoms and eight oxygen atoms on both side of equation. So this is correctly balanced.

Coefficient with reactant and product:

KClO₄    2

KCl        2

O₂         4
