Answer: Option (A) is the correct answer.

Explanation:

While performing an experiment in a laboratory it is safe to tie back long hair and loose clothing because if hairs are kept open during an experiment then it is possible that it will catch fire and can lead to a miss-happening.

Whereas loose clothes should be preferred so that the person who is performing the experiment should feel comfortable. If a person is wearing tight clothes, then the person will not feel comfortable.

Eating or drinking from laboratory glassware is dangerous as they laboratory glassware are not necessarily washed properly. So, it does contain some amount of chemicals in it as a result, they cannot be used.

Touching hot objects with your bare hands can lead to burning of skin. Hence, it should be avoided.

Testing an odor by directly inhaling the vapor should be avoided as by inhaling a reagent in laboratory we intake the reagent into our digestive system which can be very harmful.

Thus, we can conclude that out of the given options, tying back long hair and loose clothing is an example of a safe laboratory procedure.

Brian Berg of lowa built a house of cards 4.88 m tall. Suppose Berg throws a ball from ground level
Step2247 [10]

Answer:

Vf = final velocity = 1.96 [m/s]

Explanation:

To solve this problem we must use the following equation of kinematics.

v_{f}^{2}=v_{o}^{2}-2*g*x

where:

Vf = final velocity [m/s]

Vo = initial velocity = 9.98 [m/s]

g = gravity acceleration = 9.81 [m/s²]

x = vertical distance [m]

v_{f}^{2}=(9.98)^{2}-2*9.81*4.88\\v_{f}^{2} = 99.6-95.74\\v_{f}=\sqrt{3.8544}\\v_{f}=1.96[m/s]

Note: The negative sign of the gravity acceleration means that the gravity acceleration is pointing in the opposite direction of the movement.

A spring with k = 19.5 N/cm is initially stretched 1.39 cm from its equilibrium length. a) How much more energy is needed to fur
lara31 [8.8K]

Answer:

Energy needed = 54.02 J

Explanation:

the Energy in an elastic spring from hookes law is given  as

F= ke , therefore the energy (E) is

E = \frac{1}{2} Ke^{2}

K = 19.5 N/cm

e = 1.39cm

E = \frac{1}{2} x 19.5 x 1.39

E = 13.55 J

The energy to stretch the spring for 6.93cm is

E = \frac{1}{2} x 19.5 x 6.93

E = 67.57 J

The more energy needed for the further stretch is

67.57 - 13.55

Energy needed = 54.02 J
