Answer: 2.94×10^8 J

Explanation:

Using the relation

T^2 = (4π^2/GMe) r^3

Where v= velocity

r = radius

T = period

Me = mass of earth= 6×10^24

G = gravitational constant= 6.67×10^-11

4π^2/GMe = 4π^2 / [(6.67x10^-11 x6.0x10^24)]

= 0.9865 x 10^-13

Therefore,

T^2 = (0.9865 × 10^-13) × r^3

r^3 = 1/(0.9865 × 10^-13) ×T^2

r^3 = (1.014 x 10^13) × T^2

To find r1 and r2

T1 = 120min = 120*60 = 7200s

T2 = 180min = 180*60= 10800s

Therefore,

r1 = [(1.014 x 10^13)7200^2]^(1/3) = 8.07 x 10^6 m

r2 = [(1.014 x 10^13)10800^2]^(1/3) = 10.57 x 10^6 m

Required Mechanical energy

= - GMem/2 [1/r2 - 1/r1]

= (6.67 x 10^-11 x 6.0 x 10^24 * 50)/2 * [(1/8.07 × 10^-6 )- (1/10.57 × 10^-6)]

= (2001 x 10^7)/2 * (0.1239 - 0.0945)

= (1000.5 × 10^7) × 0.0294

= 29.4147 × 10^7 J

= 2.94 x 10^8 J.

Radio telescopes beam radio waves into space. To calculate the speed of the radio waves in space, which information, if any, is
Anastaziya [24]

Answer:

No more information is needed

Explanation:

Radio waves are electromagnetic energy, lower frequency forms of this type of energy that includes light and cosmic rays on the high frequency end that we are able to detect. So in free space (vacuum), radio waves travel at their fastest velocity, the “speed of light”. The reason for the quotation marks is because when light or radio waves are propagating through matter, we observe them traveling more slowly.

A wave traveling in a string has a wavelength of 35 cm, an amplitude of 8.4 cm, and a period of 1.2 s. what is the speed of this
kifflom [539]

The equation will be of the given statement:

y(x,t)  = (0.084)sin(18x - 5.2t)

<h3>What is Wavelength?</h3>

The distance a wave travels from one crest to another or from one trough to another is known as its wavelength (which may be an electromagnetic wave, a sound wave, or any other wave). The peak of the wave is called the crest, while the trough is its base.

<h3>According to the given information:</h3>

wavelength  = 35cm = .35m

amplitude A =  8.4 cm

Time  = 1.2s

The speed of this wave:

In the positive x direction, the wave is moving in a string. For these circumstances, we must write the wave equation.

When the wave is moving in the +x direction, the following general equation describes it:

Y = Asin( kx - wt )

A is amplitude

k is propagation constant

k = 2π/λ

k = 2π/0.35

k = 17.95 = 18m^-1

ω is angular frequency

ω = 2π/T

ω = 2π/1.2

ω = 5.23s^-1

The equation will be:

y(x,t)  = (0.084)sin(18x - 5.2t)
