By using a "tens number" as you refer to a multiple of ten. As a multiple of ten you can just add it to another number easier than a "ones number".

Does that answer your question?

Use the laws of logarithms and the values given below to evaluate the logarithmic expression (picture provided)
nydimaria [60]

Answer: Option a.

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve the given exercise, you must keep on mind the law of logarithms shown below:

 log(a)-log(b)=log(\frac{a}{b})

Therefore, by applying the law , you can rewrite the expression given, as following:

log(\frac{5}{7})=log(5)-log(7)

You know that:

log5=0.6990\\log7=0.8451

Then, when you substitute values, you obtain:

0.6990-0.8451=-0.1461

Find the indicated length
Setler79 [48]

Answer:

x=6

AC = 28

Step-by-step explanation:

4x+4= AC

4x +4 = 14 + 3x -4

4x-3x= 14-4-4

x = 6

AC = 4(6) +4 = 24+4 = 28

NISA [10]

For this case we must find the solution of the following quadratic equation:

x ^ 2 + 5x + 7 = 0

Where:

a = 1\\b = 5\\c = 7

Then, the solution is given by:

x = \frac {-b \pm \sqrt {b ^ 2-4 (a) (c)}} {2a}

Substituting the values:

x = \frac {-5 \pm \sqrt {5 ^ 2-4 (1) (7)}} {2 (1)}\\x = \frac {-5 \pm \sqrt {25-28}} {2}\\x = \frac {-5 \pm \sqrt {-3}} {2}

By definition we have:i ^ 2 = -1

x = \frac {-5 \pm \sqrt {3i ^ 2}} {2}\\x = \frac {-5 \pm i \sqrt {3}} {2}

Thus, we have two complex roots.

Answer:

The equation has no real roots.
