The state of a substance depends upon the nature of substance

a substance is a gas after its boiling point

a substance is heated gas above its boiling point

so if boiling point of substance (like water) is 100°C then the substance will be heated gas above 100°C

for water

a) below 0°C : it will be solid

b) at 100°C : it will have an equilibrium between liquid and gas

c) between 0°C to 100°C : it will liquid

What types of evidence do scientists use to determine evolutionary relationships among groups
lions [1.4K]
There are several things that can help scientists evaluate which category something belongs to. The similarity in features is one of them. If two skulls looked alike, they were probably species of the same evolutionary category. For example say humans and monkeys rather than humans and dogs.
Similarly fossils have helped scientists categorise species. Study of the chromosomes (in cases with available chromosomes) can help scientists figure out a lot about the subjects and categorise them.

Explain how there can be more heat energy in an iceburg than in a pot of boiling water
vlada-n [284]

Heat energy is the amount of heat there is in a substance. This may be cold heat or warm heat. Temperature is how hot or cold a substance is. So because there is a higher volume of heat in the iceberg, we say it has more heat energy.

The clearer answer is they measure the remaining carbon, and the less that there is the older the fossil is.

Is barium nitrate more soluble in water than CH4 or the other way around?
kenny6666 [7]
Barium nitrate and methane (CH4) are both soluble. They both will dissolve in water, however, barium nitrate will dissociate becoming barium 2+ ions and nitrate becoming NO3 1- ions. All nitrates are soluble and dissociate. CH4 is a weak base and does dissolves but doesn't dissociate. So in solubility terms.... they are both equally soluble just one happens to dissociate into its cations and anions. Hope this helps!
