The risk factors for developing cardiovascular disease include being inactive, having a diet of high fat and high salt foods, de
veloping high levels of LDL cholesterol, smoking, drinking alcohol, having a high ratio of body fat to other body tissue, and having Type II diabetes. How much control do you have over these factors? How much responsibility should be placed on individuals who develop cardiovascular disease due to these factors?
You have 100% control of what goes in your body, you should accept full responsibility for the things you have done in order to put you in the place you are today. We know smoking can cause cancer, and we know fattening foods will cause us to gain weight, we can be informed but we cannot be controlled.
You have 70% control over these things, I say. Because 30% is work circumstances. Sometimes those contribute and you can't always change those. The other 70% is placed on the person because they can change the majority of those things like their alcohol consumption, weight, and the food they eat.<span />
