The sum of 16 and 4 is equal to 20.
This is how I know:
20-16=4
How do I know this?
Sum means to add. To get the sum of something that equals another number, you must see what number adds up with 16 to get 20. So, this means that 16+4=20.

Hope this helps. <3 :)

" the sum " means add

16 + x = 20 <= ur equation
x = 20 - 16
x = 4 <== the number

Can someone please help me with math.
Inessa05 [86]

4- 20

I created an equation for this one:

4x+x=100

 • 4x= four times the amount of the other number
 • x= the number
 • combine like terms

5x=100

 • divide by 5

x=20

5. One pretzel costs $3

Create an equation:

 • 2s+p=7
 • 4s+3p=17

Mulitply 2s+p=7 by -2 so you can use elimination.

 • -4s-2p=-14
 • 4s+3p=17

Combine equations

p=3
