The discipline of building hardware architectures, operating systems, and specialized algorithms for running a program on a cluster of processors is known as <u>parallel computing.</u>

<h3>What is Parallel Computing?</h3>

Parallel computing refers to the process of breaking down larger problems into smaller, independent, often similar parts that can be executed simultaneously by multiple processors communicating via shared memory, the results of which are combined upon completion as part of an overall algorithm. The primary goal of parallel computing is to increase available computation power for faster application processing and problem solving.

<h3>Types of parallel computing</h3>

There are generally four types of parallel computing, available from both proprietary and open source parallel computing vendors:

  • Bit-level parallelism: increases processor word size, which reduces the quantity of instructions the processor must execute in order to perform an operation on variables greater than the length of the word.
  • Instruction-level parallelism: the hardware approach works upon dynamic parallelism, in which the processor decides at run-time which instructions to execute in parallel; the software approach works upon static parallelism, in which the compiler decides which instructions to execute in parallel.
  • Task parallelism: a form of parallelization of computer code across multiple processors that runs several different tasks at the same time on the same data.
  • Superword-level parallelism: a vectorization technique that can exploit parallelism of inline code.

A direct-mapped cache holds 64KB of useful data (not including tag or control bits). Assuming that the block size is 32-byte and
Cerrena [4.2K]

Answer:

A) Number of bits for byte = 6 bits

B) number of bits for index = 17 bits

C) number of bits for tag = 15 bits

Explanation:

Given data :

cache size = 64 kB

block size = 32 -byte

block address = 32 -bit

number of blocks in cache memory

cache size / block size = 64 kb / 32 b = 2^11 hence the number of blocks in cache memory = 11 bits = block offset

A) Number of bits for byte

log _{2} (6)^2 = 6  bits

B) number of bits for index

block offset + byte number

= 11 + 6 = 17 bits

c ) number of bits for tag

= 32 - number of bits for index

= 32 - 17 = 15 bits

At the end of the day, you finish a job only to find that the user you were doing it for had to leave. What should you do
Vika [28.1K]

The way to proceed in the situation presented would be:

  • Finish the process started to help that user and continue with the other tasks of the day.

<h3>How to serve a customer properly?</h3>

In different work positions we have the possibility of personally or virtually assisting clients by carrying out procedures to help them improve their service or experience with the company.

Companies have developed complete customer service systems so that their employees know how to proceed in different specific situations in which their customers require help.

In the situation described, the most appropriate thing would be to finish the process required by the user and continue with the other tasks of the day that were planned.
