A. Electrons move from the sodium atoms to the oxygen atoms.

Explanation:

When oxygen reacts with sodium, electrons moves from sodium to oxygen atoms. An ionic bond forms between the two ions.

Ionic or electrovalent bonds form between atoms with a large electronegativity difference between them. These are typically metals and non-metals.

  • Electrons moves from the metals leaving a net positive charge on it.
  • The non-metals gain the electrons making them negatively charged.
  • The electrostatic attraction between the two ions results in the formation of ionic bonds.
  • In this example, two Na loses one electron each and making its ion resemble Neon atom which is a stable atom.
  • Oxygen gains the two electrons and completes its own octet too.
  • The two oppositely charged ions attracts and forms a compound.

miss Akunina [59]
The total work done by the electric field on the charge is given by the scalar product between the electric force acting on the charge and the displacement of the charge:
W=F d cos \theta
where the force is F=qE, d=0.556 and \theta=55.2^{\circ}. Using the value of q and E given by the problem, we find
W=qEdcos\theta = 6.39\cdot10^{-5}J

The total kinetic energy of two cars is measured before and after they crash into each other. The total kinetic energy of the tw
jenyasd209 [6]

Answer:

Option B, Some of the cars' kinetic energy was converted to sound and heat energy.

Explanation:

In an elastic collision, no energy is lost during and after collision. Thus, it can be said that in an elastic collision both momentum and kinetic energy remains conserved.

While in non-elastic collision, kinetic energy of the system is lost. However, the momentum of the system is conserved. Generally, during and after collision some of the kinetic energy is lost as thermal energy, sound energy etc.

Hence, option B is correct

In the broadest sense, what was the kinectic molecular theory designed to explain?
faust18 [17]

Answer: Kinetic Molecular Theory claims that gas particles are in continuous motion and completely demonstrate elastic collisions. Kinetic Molecular Theory can be used to describe the rules of both Charles and Boyle. A series of gas particles only has an average kinetic energy that is directly proportional to absolute temperature.
