There are many ways you can do this. To me, the easiest way is cross multiplying, but since the denominators are the same, there is no need to do that. Also, the fractions are negatives, the one closest to 0 is closer to the surface of the pool
-4/5 = -2/5 in this case -2/5 is closer to the surface of the pool.

Answer:

Boy's feet.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since, the one who is less far from the surface is called closer to the surface.

Given,

The distance of girl's feet from the surface = -\frac{4}{5} yards,

Also, the distance of boy's feet from the surface = -\frac{2}{5} yards,

-\frac{2}{5}< -\frac{4}{5}

Thus, the feet of boy are closer to the surface.

svet-max [94.6K]
Answer is D. 476m2
Because the area of the 3 rectangles combined is 416 meters squared plus the are of the triangle ( each is 30 meters, there are 2 triangles ) that’s 60 meter squared. 416 + 60 = 476 meters2

4tantheta/12-tan^2=1
egoroff_w [7]
4tan \theta = 12 - tan^{2} \theta
tan^{2} \theta + 4tan \theta - 12 = 0

Let x = tan \theta
x^{2} + 4x - 12 = 0
(x + 6)(x - 2) = 0
x = -6, x = 2

tan \theta = -6, tan \theta = 2

Since they both work, then we can write the solutions in general form:
\theta = n \pi + tan^{-1}(2), n \in Z
\theta = n \pi - tan^{-1}(6), n \in Z

Now, these solutions will always satisfy the equation and substituting a whole number in place of n will produce a solution that satisfies the given equation.

from the following information, calculate the net increase in cash. Earnings before interest and taxes $52,000. Depreciation exp
Alexus [3.1K]
Answer: The net increase in cash will be a negative $32,020.

In this problem, we are starting with $52,000 in cash. All we have to do is following the steps to see where we end up at.

52000 - 7800 = 44200    Depreciation Expense
44200 - 1700 = 42500     Decrease in Prepaid Expenses
42500 + 12880 = 55380    Increase in Accounts Receivable
55380 - 32700 = 22680     Purchase of Machinery
22680 - 11300 = 11380     Payment of Dividends
11380 + 8600 = 19980   Increase in Bank Borrowing

The net amount of change is 19980 - 52000 = -$32,020
