well then, the volume of the nose cone will just be the sum of the volume of the cylinder below and the cone above.

since the diameter for both is 8, then their radius is half that, or 4.

\bf \stackrel{\textit{volume of a cone}}{V=\cfrac{\pi r^2 h}{3}}~~ \begin{cases} r=radius\\ h=height\\ \cline{1-1} r=4\\ h=6 \end{cases}\implies V=\cfrac{\pi (4)^2(6)}{3}\implies V=32\pi \\\\\\ \stackrel{\textit{volume of a cylinder}}{V=\pi r^2 h}~~ \begin{cases} r=radius\\ h=height\\ \cline{1-1} r=4\\ h=6 \end{cases}\implies V=\pi (4)^2(6)\implies V=96\pi \\\\[-0.35em] ~\dotfill\\\\ \stackrel{\textit{volume of the nose cone}}{32\pi +96\pi \implies 128\pi }\qquad \approx \qquad 402.12

Nadya [2.5K]

Answer:

s ≤ -18

Step-by-step explanation:

Multiply both sides of the inequality by -3. Since the multiplier is negative, you need to reverse the comparison symbol.

(-3)(-s/3) ≤ (-3)(6)

s ≤ -18

_____

If you multiply by a positive number, you don't need to reverse the symbol. Hence multiplying by 3 gives ...

-s ≥ 18

You can now add s to both sides:

0 ≥ 18 + s

and subtract 18 from both sides:

-18 ≥ s

Of course, this is the same relationship as ...

s ≤ -18

Write the slope intercept form of the equation of the line through the given points x intercept of -5 and y intercept of -1. Pls
soldier1979 [14.2K]

bearing in mind that an x-intercept is when the graph touches the x-axis and when that happens y = 0, and a y-intercept is  when the graph touches the y-axis and when that happens x = 0.

\bf \underset{x-intercept}{(\stackrel{x_1}{-5}~,~\stackrel{y_1}{0})}\qquad \underset{y-intercept}{(\stackrel{x_2}{0}~,~\stackrel{y_2}{-1})} ~\hfill \stackrel{slope}{m}\implies \cfrac{\stackrel{rise} {\stackrel{y_2}{-1}-\stackrel{y1}{0}}}{\underset{run} {\underset{x_2}{0}-\underset{x_1}{(-5)}}}\implies \cfrac{-1}{0+5}\implies -\cfrac{1}{5}

\bf \begin{array}{|c|ll} \cline{1-1} \textit{point-slope form}\\ \cline{1-1} \\ y-y_1=m(x-x_1) \\\\ \cline{1-1} \end{array}\implies y-\stackrel{y_1}{0}=\stackrel{m}{-\cfrac{1}{5}}[x-\stackrel{x_1}{(-5)}] \\\\\\ y=-\cfrac{1}{5}(x+5)\implies y = -\cfrac{1}{5}x-1

Ket [755]

Answer:

3/8 left

Step-by-step explanation:

I can't draw a model but I can still give an explanation.

1/2 required to memorize - 1/8 already memorized = 3/8 left

Maybe draw a rectangle with 8 divisions and label the situation.
