Answer:

x = 2.25

Step-by-step explanation:

 -9(x - 5) = x + 22 1/2

Distribute the nine and then add 9x to both sides

 -9x + 45 = x +22 1/2

+ 9x        + 9x

Then try to get x alone

       45 = 10x + 22 1/2

     -22 1/2       -22 1/2

    22.5 = 10x

   \frac{22.5}{10} = \frac{10x}{10}

   2.25 = x

Answer:

\large\boxed{x=\dfrac{9}{4}=2\dfrac{1}{4}}

Step-by-step explanation:

-9(x-5)=x+22\dfrac{1}{2}\qquad\text{multiply both sides by 2}\\\\(2)(-9)(x-5)=2x+(2)\left(22\dfrac{1}{2}\right)\\\\-18(x-5)=2x+45\qquad\text{use the distributive property:}\ a(b+c)=ab+ac\\\\(-18)(x)+(-18)(-5)=2x+45\\\\-18x+90=2x+45\qquad\text{subtract 90 from both sides}\\\\-18x+90-90=2x+45-90\\\\-18x=2x-45\qquad\text{subtract}\ 2x\ \text{from both sides}\\\\-18x-2x=2x-2x-45\\\\-20x=-45\qquad\text{divide both sides by (-20)}\\\\\dfrac{-20x}{-20}=\dfrac{-45}{-20}\\\\x=\dfrac{45:5}{20:5}\\\\x=\dfrac{9}{4}\to x=2\dfrac{1}{4}

Lucia is wrapping packages that are in the shape of a triangular prism. The net of the prism is shown below: ( Help me answer th
solniwko [45]

Answer:

The total surface area of all 6 prisms is 6336 in^2.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's find the surface area of ONE prism and then multiply that result by 6 to obtain the final answer.

One prism:

The area of the two 13 in by 26 in rectangular tabs is 2(13 in)(26 in), or 676 in^2 (subtotal);

The area of the two triangles of base 10 in and height 12 in is 2([1/2][10 in][12 in], or 120 in^2; and, finally,

The area of the 10 in by 26 in base is 260 in^2.

The total surface area of ONE prism is thus:

676 in^2 + 120 in^2 + 260 in^2, or 1056 in^2.

Now, because there are 6 of these prisms, multiply this last result by 6:

6(1056 in^2) = 6336 in^2.

The total surface area of all 6 prisms is 6336 in^2.

Write an epression that shows how to multiply 7×256 using expanded form and the Distributive Property
posledela

It wants expanded form and the distributive property (something like 2(5+6b), so I would think it wants something like 7(200+50+6). This way, you're multiplying 7 by each expanded part of the number, which you would do anyway when solving like normal. Please correct me if I'm wrong!
