How does capillary action help sustain life on earth? Uptake of food and water by plants Change in climates Water strider walkin

Capillary action is a combination of the adhesive and cohesive properties of water in which the water is able to move up a small tube against the pull of gravity. Therefore, the uptake of food and water is due to capillary action.

Change in climate has nothing to do with adhesion and cohesion in water. Some insects can walk on water due to surface tension, which is due to cohesion. However, there is no movement upward through a tube with surface tension, and so it is not an example of capillary action.

Air pollution:
Aleksandr-060686 [28]

Answer:

Since the early 1900s, many glaciers around the world have been rapidly melting. Human activities are at the root of this phenomenon. Specifically, since the industrial revolution, carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas emissions have raised temperatures, even higher in the poles, and as a result, glaciers are rapidly melting, calving off into the sea and retreating on land.

What is RFLP? What are some of the limitations of this technique?
bearhunter [10]
In molecular biology, restriction fragment length polymorphism, orRFLP, is a technique that exploits variations in homologous DNA sequences. It refers to a differencebetween samples of homologous DNAmolecules from differing locations ofrestriction enzyme sites, and to a related laboratory technique by which these segments can be illustrated. InRFLP analysis, the DNA sample is broken into pieces and (digested) byrestriction enzymes and the resultingrestriction fragments are separated according to their lengths by gel electrophoresis. Although now largely obsolete due to the rise of inexpensive DNA sequencing technologies, RFLP analysis was the first DNA profilingtechnique inexpensive enough to see widespread application. RFLP analysis was an important tool in genome mapping, localization of genes forgenetic disorders, determination of riskfor disease, and paternity testing.

Phosphofructokinase is an allosteric enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of fructose-6-phosphate to fructose-1,6-bisphosphate,
Keith_Richards [23]

Answer:

The correct answer is a Inhibit the enzyme and slow the rates of Glycolysis and citric acid cycle.

Explanation:

ATP accumulation result in blocking the activity of the rate limiting enzyme  of glycolysis  Phosphofructokinase that catalyses the conversion of fructose-6-phosphate to fructose -1,6-bisphosphate .

ATP is an Allosteric inhibitor of Phosphofructokinase enzyme and this enzymatic inhibition decreases the rate of glycolysis and as the rate of glycolysis decreases the rate of TCA cycle is also decreased because TCA cycle  depends on glycolytic end product Pyruvate. As glycolysis rate is decreased pyruvate is not formed in a sufficient amount to carry out its conversion to Acetyl CoA  and enters into TCA Cycle.
