How does capillary action help sustain life on earth? Uptake of food and water by plants Change in climates Water strider walkin

Capillary action is a combination of the adhesive and cohesive properties of water in which the water is able to move up a small tube against the pull of gravity. Therefore, the uptake of food and water is due to capillary action.

Change in climate has nothing to do with adhesion and cohesion in water. Some insects can walk on water due to surface tension, which is due to cohesion. However, there is no movement upward through a tube with surface tension, and so it is not an example of capillary action.

Hope this helps! :)

Ocean water is sinking at the North Atlantic Buoy Station. What happens when water of a high density sinks?
svp [43]

Answer:

Ocean water is sinking at the North Atlantic Buoy Station the given things have occurred.

Explanation:

The way of thermohaline course starts at high scopes, where cold seawater sinks due to its generally high thickness.

In the Northern Hemisphere, profound sinking to 2000-3000 meters happens just in the North Atlantic, not in the North Pacific on the grounds that the waters of the North Pacific are freezing and not as salty as the waters of the North Atlantic.

In this way, Earth's profound sea bowls are loaded up with waters from the northern North Atlantic and those that sink close to Antarctica.

galben [10]

The major contribution made by Avery, MacLeod, and McCarty was 'transformation of nonvirulent cells with a DNA extract was blocked only if DNase was added'. This observation supported the idea that the transforming agent in Griffith's experiment was DNA.

The Avery–MacLeod–McCarty experiment showed that DNA was the transforming agent observed in Griffith's experiment.

Griffith's experiment (1928) suggested that bacteria were capable of transferring genetic information (DNA) by a process of horizontal gene transfer called transformation.

While the bacteria were killed by heat, Frederick Griffith observed that the DNA had was taken up by II-R strain bacteria via transformation.

Avery–MacLeod–McCarty experiment observed that protease enzymes did not destroy the transforming agent (but DNAse destroyed this transforming principle), thereby suggesting that the transforming agent in Griffith's experiment was bacterial DNA.

if you were to grill a steak, would it be better to put salt on before or after you cooked it? explain why in terms of osmosis
LUCKY_DIMON [66]
I think it'd be better to do it before you grill it cause while its on the grill it'll soak up all the seasonings and make it better tasting then it would if you would have salted it afterwards
