Y=mx+d

you know m=1/3
->
y=(1/3)x+b

for the complete definition of the line you need to calculate b, for this insert the given point (3,3) into x and y which the line passes:

3=(1/3)*3+b
3=1+b
2=b

so your line is y=(1/3)x+2

What is the volume of a right circular cylinder with a base radius of 6 feet and a height of 10 feet? 900 cubic meters 120 cubic
kvv77 [185]

Step-by-step explanation:

the volume of a cylinder is

base area × height = pi×r² × height

with r being the radius.

so, we get

pi×6² × 10 = pi×36 + 10 = 360pi =

= 1,130.973355... ft³

now we need to look at the conversion rate between feet and meters :

1 ft = 0.3048 m

1 ft² = 0.3048² m² = 0.09290304 m²

1 f³ = 0.3048³ m³ = 0.028316847... m³

1,130.973355... ft³ = 1,130.973355... × 0.028316847... =

= 32.025599... m³

so, something is not right with your answer options. it looks like you put maybe the answer options of a different question in here.

but none of them get even close to the actual solution of the given question.

A) average of p and 10 is 16,p=?<br>b) average of z and 12 is 10,z=?
Ahat [919]

Answer:

p = 22

z = 8

Step-by-step explanation:

Average is sum of the terms divided by number of terms.

<u>Question # 1:</u>

Given that:

\displaystyle \frac{p+10}{2} = 16\\\\Multiply\ both\ sides\ by \ 2]]\\ p+10 = 2 \times 16\\\\p+10 = 32\\\\Subtract \ 10\ to \ both \ sides\\\\p = 32-10\\\\p = 22

<u>Question # 2:</u>

Given that:

\displaystyle \frac{z+12}{2} = 10\\\\Multiply \ both \ sides \ by \ 2\\\\z+12 = 10 \times 2\\\\z+12 = 20\\\\Subtract \ 12\ to \ both \ sides\\\\z = 20-12\\\\z = 8\\\\\rule[224]{225}{2}

Hope this helped!

What is the equation of the line of best fit for the following data? Round the
Svet_ta [14]

Answer:

S_{xx}=\sum_{i=1}^n x^2_i -\frac{(\sum_{i=1}^n x_i)^2}{n}=438-\frac{44^2}{5}=50.8

S_{xy}=\sum_{i=1}^n x_i y_i -\frac{(\sum_{i=1}^n x_i)(\sum_{i=1}^n y_i)}{n}=415-\frac{44*42}{5}=45.4

And the slope would be:

m=\frac{45.4}{50.8}=0.8937 \approx 0.894

Now we can find the means for x and y like this:

\bar x= \frac{\sum x_i}{n}=\frac{44}{5}=8.8

\bar y= \frac{\sum y_i}{n}=\frac{42}{5}=8.4

And we can find the intercept using this:

b=\bar y -m \bar x=8.4-(0.894*8.8)=0.535

So the line would be given by:

y=0.894 x +0.535

And the best option is:

A. y = 0.894x + 0.535

Step-by-step explanation:

We have the following dataset given

x: 5,6,9,10,14

y: 4,6,9,11,12

We want to find the least-squares line appropriate for this data given by this general expresion:

y = mx +b

Where m is the slope and b the intercept

For this case we need to calculate the slope with the following formula:

m=\frac{S_{xy}}{S_{xx}}

Where:

S_{xy}=\sum_{i=1}^n x_i y_i -\frac{(\sum_{i=1}^n x_i)(\sum_{i=1}^n y_i)}{n}

S_{xx}=\sum_{i=1}^n x^2_i -\frac{(\sum_{i=1}^n x_i)^2}{n}

So we can find the sums like this:

\sum_{i=1}^n x_i = 44

\sum_{i=1}^n y_i =42

\sum_{i=1}^n x^2_i =438

\sum_{i=1}^n y^2_i =398

\sum_{i=1}^n x_i y_i =415

With these we can find the sums:

S_{xx}=\sum_{i=1}^n x^2_i -\frac{(\sum_{i=1}^n x_i)^2}{n}=438-\frac{44^2}{5}=50.8

S_{xy}=\sum_{i=1}^n x_i y_i -\frac{(\sum_{i=1}^n x_i)(\sum_{i=1}^n y_i)}{n}=415-\frac{44*42}{5}=45.4

And the slope would be:

m=\frac{45.4}{50.8}=0.8937 \approx 0.894

Nowe we can find the means for x and y like this:

\bar x= \frac{\sum x_i}{n}=\frac{44}{5}=8.8

\bar y= \frac{\sum y_i}{n}=\frac{42}{5}=8.4

And we can find the intercept using this:

b=\bar y -m \bar x=8.4-(0.894*8.8)=0.535

So the line would be given by:

y=0.894 x +0.535

And the best option is:

A. y = 0.894x + 0.535
