Alrightie! So we are trying to isolate independent variables! WOO HOO!

So for a.) y = mx + b which is the point-slope formula... do this :)

y = mx + b
y - b = mx + b - b
y - b = mx

\frac{y-b}{x} =  \frac{mx}{x}
m =  \frac{y-b}{x}

b.) follow the same way I did above, but instead of dividing x, divide by m.

c.)  I = prt which is the equation for interest.
divide each side by pr.

d.) This one is like a and b. So lemme show ya.

A - p = prt
\frac{A-p}{pr} =  \frac{t}{pr}
t = \frac{A-p}{pr}

Answer:

$2.55

Step-by-step explanation:

If you Multiply $85 by 0.03 you get your answer because you have to turn the 3% into a decimal which you have to move the decimal two places to the left.

Gina started with the circle (x−2)2+y2=16. She translated it 4 units left and 1 unit down. Then she reduced the radius by 1 unit
olchik [2.2K]

Answer:

(x + 2)² + (y + 1)² = 9

Step-by-step explanation:

Gina started with a circle with the given equation as,

(x - 2)² + (y - 0)² = 16

Since, standard equation of a circle is,

(x - a)² + (y - b)² = r²

Here (a, b) is the center of the circle and 'r' is the radius.

Therefore, from the given equation of the circle,

Center of the circle → (2, 0)

Radius of the circle → √16 = 4 units

She translated this circle 4 units left and 1 unit down.

Rule for the new center after translation will be,

(x, y) → (x - 4, y - 1)

(2, 0) → (2 - 4, 0 - 1)

         → (-2, -1)

Coordinates of the new center → (-2, -1)

Then she reduced the radius by 1 units.

Therefore, radius of the new circle = 4 - 1 = 3 units

Now we substitute these values in the standard equation of the circle to get the equation of the new circle.

(x + 2)² + (y + 1)² = 3²

(x + 2)² + (y + 1)² = 9

What is 1.23 pounds written as a mixed number
sergiy2304 [10]

The answer would be 1\frac{23}{100}

In 1.23, we know that 1 is a whole number and .23 is part of a whole, so it is a fraction.

.23 can be written as \frac{23}{100} because the decimal is till the hundredths place.

We cannot simplify \frac{23}{100} any further so we leave it as is.

The answer would then be 1\frac{23}{100}.
