We have to compute: Δ y / Δ x.
The interval is [ 2, 5 ] and y = 4 x - 9.
y 1 = 4 · 2 - 9 = 8 - 9 = - 1
y 2 = 4 · 5 - 9 = 20 - 9 = 11
Δ y / Δ x = ( y 2 - y 1 ) / ( x 2 - x 1 ) =
= ( 11 - ( - 1 ) ) / ( 5 - 2 ) = ( 11 + 1 ) / 3 = 12 / 3 = 4

This can be written as n^{2}-(7)^{2}

This is in form of \fbox{a^{2}-b^{2}} , it can be expanded as \fbox{(a-b)(a+b)}

=> (n-7)(n+7)=0
=> n -7 = 0 or n + 7 = 0
=> n = 7 or n = -7

So option 7 , -7 are correct.
