This is a perfect square trnomial
(a+b)²=a²+2ab+b²
we see that a=5x and b=2

(5x)²+2(5x)(2)+2²=0
factor
(5x+2)²=0
set equal to zero
5x+2=0
5x=-2
x=-2/5

Monthly rent at Lake View Apartments has increased annually and is modeled by the exponential equation y = 2,400(1.04)x. What is
AfilCa [17]

Answer:

The percent increase per year is 4%

Step-by-step explanation:

we have

y=2,400(1.04^x)

This is a exponential function of the form

y=a(b^x)

where

y represent the monthly rent at Lake View Apartments

x represent the number of years

a is the initial value (y-intercept)

b is the base

r is the rate or percent increase

b=(1+r)

The percent increase per year is the base of the exponential function decreased by 1.

so

r=b-1

In this problem we have

a=\$2,400 ---> initial value

b=1.04\\r=1.04-1=0.04=4\%

Therefore

The percent increase per year is 4%

Compare the expressions. 40 -16 plus 10 ? -20 plus 18 plus 30
Harman [31]

We just need to do come computation:

40-16+10 = 40+(-16+10) = 40+(-6) = 40-6=34

-20+18+30 = -2+30 = 28

So, we have 34>28

Find the center of the circle whose equation is (x-2)^2(y-4)^2=9.
guajiro [1.7K]

Answer:

B.(2,4)

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation for a circle is written as

(x-h)^2 +(y-k)^2 = r^2

where (h,k) is the center and r is the radius

(x-2)^2+(y-4)^2=9.

Rewriting this equation

(x-2)^2+(y-4)^2=3^2

The center is at (2,4)
