Ron and Hermoine are fighting over the Monster book of Monsters and they are both pulling on the book with a force of 14 N (equa

lly and in opposite directions). What will happen to the book in this situation?
A) The book will slide towards Ron

let the ron and hermoine apply force along the horizontal direction . let ron pulls in left direction. and hermoine pulls towards right

lets assume that the left direction is taken as negative and right direction as positive.

F = force applied by ron towards left

F' = force applied by hermoine towards right

a = acceleration of the book

m = mass of book

force equation for the book is given as

- F + F' = ma

Given that : F = F'

hence

- F' + F' = ma

0 = ma

a = 0 m/s²

since the book was initially at rest and the acceleration comes out to be zero, hence the book will not move.

so correct choice is

D) The book will not move

The correct answer to the question is :  D) The book will not move.

EXPLANATION :

As per the question, Ron and Hermoine are applying same amount of force on the book.

Let the force applied by Ron is \vec F.

Let the force applied by Hermoine is \vec F'

As per the question, the two forces are equal and opposite i.e anti parallel.

Hence, we may write two forces as \vec F=\ -\vec F'.

Hence, the net force acting on the book is calculated as -

                                     F_{net} =\ F-F'

                                            =\ F-F

                                            =\ 0

Hence, the net force on the book is zero. So, the book will not move.

Hence, the correct option of the question is option D.

An object is moving east with a constant speed of 30 m/s for 5 seconds. What is the object’s acceleration?
Shtirlitz [24]

Answer:

6 m/s²

Explanation:

From the question given above, the following data were obtained:

Velocity (v) = 30 m/s

Time (t) = 5 s

Acceleration (a) =..?

Acceleration is defined mathematically as:

Acceleration (a) = Velocity (v) /time (t)

a = v /t

With the above formula, we can obtain the acceleration of the object as follow:

Velocity (v) = 30 m/s

Time (t) = 5 s

Acceleration (a) =..?

a= v/t

a= 30/5

a = 6 m/s²

Therefore, the acceleration of the object is 6 m/s² due East.

"An alpha particle (He2+) with a velocity of 2.6x106m/scrosses a uniform magnetic field at an angle of 37.0°to the field lines a
sergey [27]

Answer:

B = 5.59x10⁹ T

Explanation:

The magnetic force (F), on a the alpha particle with charge (q) that is moving at velocity (v) as the cross product of the velocity and magnetic field (B) is:

F = qvBsin(\theta)

<u>We have:</u>

F = 1.4x10⁻³ N

v = 2.6x10⁶ m/s

θ = 37.0°

q = 2*p = 2*1.6x10⁻¹⁹ C

Hence, the strength of the magnetic field is:

B = \frac{F}{qvsin(\theta)} = \frac{1.4 \cdot 10^{-3}}{1.6 \cdot 10^{-19} C*2.6 \cdot 10^{6}*sin(37)} = 5.59 \cdot 10^{9} T

Therefore, the strength of the magnetic field is 5.59x10⁹ T.

I hope it helps you!
