Answers can very, but:

- it is a brain thing, playing video games is like pleasure ( whether food games or violent games)

- it is like a fun pastime which doesn't require physical labor.

- video games are made for you to get addicted.

Video games definitely affect out society. They affect younger people socially because their friends play it and is constantly being aroused for the latest video game that has come out. If it affects socially than of course it affects mentally, because both can reflect each other.
