Given :

A water well rig has dug to a height , H = 60 feet after one full day of continuous use .

To Find :

If the height is currently 143.6 feet how time it been running .

Solution :

It is given that height after 24 hours of use is 60 feet .

So , height loose in 1 hours is :

h=\dfrac{60}{24}\ feet\\\\h=2.5 \ feet

Now , time taken to cover a height of 143.6 feet is :

t = \dfrac{143.6}{2.5}\ hours\\\\t=57.44\ hours

Therefore , time taken is 57.44 hours .

Hence , this is the required solution .

Answer:

x =  - 4

Step-by-step explanation:

\frac{x}{8}  =  -  \frac{1}{2}

First, we multiply both fractions by 8:

8( \frac{x}{8} ) = 8( -  \frac{1}{2} )

Simplify:

x =  - 4

What is the equation of the line that is parallel to the line y = 1/3x + 4 and passes through the point (6, 5)?
Gnom [1K]

Find Slope
--------------------------------------------------
y = -1/3 x + 4
Slope = -1/3
Slope of the parallel line = -1/3

--------------------------------------------------
Insert slope into y = mx + c
--------------------------------------------------
y = -1/3 x + c

--------------------------------------------------
Find y-intercept
--------------------------------------------------
y = -1/3 x + c
at point (6, 5)
5 = -1/3 (6) + c
5 = - 2 + c
c = 5 + 2
c = 7

--------------------------------------------------
Insert y-intercept into y = -1/3x + c
--------------------------------------------------
y = -1/3 x + 7
