Answer:

15 nuts do not get found.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that Of a squirrel's hidden nuts, for every 5 that get found, there are 3 that do not get found.

Total number of nuts squirrel had hidden = 40

Proportion of nuts not found to total = 3/(3+5) = 3/8

Hence out of 40, nuts not found =3/8(40) = 15 nuts.

15 nuts would not be found and 25 nuts would be found if squirrel had hidden in total 40 nuts.

This is because the proportion of found:unfound = 5:3

Hence 25:!5 =5:3 satisfies this

15 nuts are not found.

Given a soda can with a volume of 15 and a diameter of 2, what is the volume of a cone that fits perfectly inside the soda can?
Naddika [18.5K]
Check the picture below.

so, a cone, that fits inside the cylinder, will have the same height "h" and radius "r".  Thus

\bf \textit{volume of a cylinder}\\\\
V=\pi r^2 h\qquad \boxed{\pi r^2 h}=15
\\\\\\
\textit{volume of a cone}\\\\
V=\cfrac{\pi r^2 h}{3}\implies V=\cfrac{\boxed{15}}{3}

Brett painted three walls. Each wall was 9 ft tall and 12 ft long. How much wall area did he paint
julsineya [31]

Answer:

First we need to calculate the are of each wall, since we alredy knew the length (l) and the width (w) which is the height of the wall in this case:

A = wl = 9 . 12 = 108 (ft²)

We also know that he painted 3 walls, we need to multiply our first result by 3, in other words, the area of wall that Brett painted is the sum of the area of three walls: 108 . 3 = 324 (ft²)
