Answer:

v = -0.5 m/s

Explanation:

According to law of conservation of energy, in the absence of any external force, the momentum of a system remains conserved.

Initial momentum = final momentum

m u + m' u' = m v + m' v'

where, m = 8.0 kg

m' = 4.0 kg

u = 4.0 m/s

u' = -6.0 m/s

v' = 3.0 m/s

v = ?

⇒ (8.0)(4.0)+(4.0)(-6.0)=(8.0)(v)+(4.0)(3.0)

⇒ 32-24=8v+12

⇒v = -0.5 m/s

The 8.0 kg cart will move with 0.5 m/s towards left.

Electricity costs 6 cents per kilowatt hour. In one month one home uses one megawatt hour of electricity. How much will the elec
Luda [366]

Answer:

Cost of 1000 kilowatt hour = 6000 cents

Explanation:

Given that

Electricity cost is 6 cents per kilowatt hour.

And we have to found out the cost for one megawatt hour

We know that

1 kilowatt = 1000 watt

1 megawatt = = 1000000 watt

1 megawatt = 1000 kilowatt

1 megawatt hour = 1000 kilowatt hour

Given that cost of 1 kilowatt hour = 6 cents

So the cost of 1000 kilowatt hour = 6 x 1000 cents

Cost of 1000 kilowatt hour = 6000 cents

Why would knowing the characteristics of circuits be important in designing electrical circuits?
zubka84 [21]
Well if you didn't you could make mistakes, which would lead ,in the best case, at a fail of the circuit , or if it goes out of control it could be dangerous

for example you have to know that the wires become hot and they loose their abbilitys as connecters(the hotter it will, the more energy you lose becouse the R will be bigger)

What causes wind how does the process reverse itself between day and night?
iris [78.8K]
Wind is nature's way of balancing the temperature between hot and cold. Wind always flows from heat to cool. When night falls, the air cools. And since it gets cooler at night it reverses.
