Explanation:

Atomic number is the sum of total number of protons present in an element. And, each element of the periodic table will have a different atomic number. Whereas atomic mass is defined as the sum of total number of protons and neutrons present in an atom.

Atomic number of bromine is 35 which means that it contains 35 protons and the number of neutrons present in it are as follows.

          atomic mass = no. of protons + no. of neutrons

                   80 = 35 + no. of neutrons

       no. of neutrons = 80 - 35

                                  = 45

In a neutral atom, the no. of protons is equal to the no. of electrons. As Br^{-} has one negative charge which means that there are 36 electrons and 35 protons present in a Br^{-} ion.

Atomic number of barium is 56 and no. of neutrons present in barium are as follows.

           atomic mass = no. of protons + no. of neutrons

                   137 = 56 + no. of neutrons

       no. of neutrons = 137 - 56

                                  = 81

As Ba^{+} has one positive charge. So, it contains 55 electrons and 56 protons. Formula of its oxide is BaO

Atomic number of aluminium is 27 so, it has 27 protons. As Al^{3+} has a 3+ charge so, the number of electrons present in it will be 25.

The percentage composition of acetic acid is found to be 39.9% C, 6.7% H, and 53.4% O. What is the empirical formula of acetic a
anastassius [24]

Answer:

CH₂O

Explanation:

From the question given above, the following data were obtained:

Carbon (C) = 39.9%

Hydrogen (H) = 6.7%

Oxygen (O) = 53.4%

Empirical formula =?

The empirical formula of acetic acid can be obtained as follow:

C = 39.9%

H = 6.7%

O = 53.4%

Divide by their molar mass

C = 39.9 / 12 = 3.3

H = 6.7 / 1 = 6.7

O = 53.4 / 16 = 3.3

Divide by the smallest

C = 3.3 / 3.3 = 1

H = 6.7 / 3.3 = 2

O = 3.3 / 3.3 = 1

The empirical formula => CH₂O

How many moles of silver atoms are in 1.8 x 10^-21 atoms of silver?
rodikova [14]
Hola!

We know,
1 Mole of anything has 6.02 × 10^{-23} particles

According to Question,

6.02 × 10^{-23} = 1 Mole

Thus,

1.8 × 10^{-21} / 6.02 × 10^{-23} = 0.33 Moles

hope it helps!

10 POINTS.
enot [183]

There are a total of 40 valence electrons in the PCl5 Lewis structure. Remember when you draw the Lewis structure for PCl5 that Phosphorous (P) is in Period 3 on the Periodic table. This means that it can hold more than 8 valence electrons.

I hope this helps and please don't report
